Berry Banana SmoothieThis green smoothie recipe is very simple and can be easily altered. Using banana as a smoothie base makes a creamy drink you can build on with ease. In this healthy smoothie recipe, I recommend blueberries or strawberries, but you can use your imagination and add any other fruit instead. Other greens can be substituted and you could add some pure whey protein powder or very fresh, raw, free-range eggs for protein, if you like (the risk of salmonella is negligible if you use very fresh, local eggs).
Berry Banana Smoothie
1 banana, previously frozen and cut into chunks 1 cup strawberries or blueberries 2 romaine lettuce or kale leaves 1/2 cup coconut milk and 1 cup water or 1 1/2 cups plain yogurt or kefir Directions:Blend all ingredients well, adding ice or additional water to produce desired consistency. Serves 1-2. |
